Why did Paul Gallen storm out of the pre-fight press conference?

Was it 'cringey' pre-fight posturing or a legitimate gripe that led Paul Gallen to walk out of Monday's press conference in a huff?

If you missed it, Gallen took issue with the lack of pre-fight promotion that his rival, Kris Terzievski, had done in the build up to this fight.

“I’m really proud and grateful to be headlining this card,” Gallen said on Monday.
“This is the best card I’ve ever been apart of. So to headline this act and put on a show means a hell of a lot to me.
“But one thing that’s frustrated the crap out of me the last 20 minutes sitting here is I’ve heard three or four blokes say about the publicity they’re going to get.
“Kris has done nothing to sell this fight. Nothing, not one thing. Didn’t turn up to the media the other day.
“So I’m not going to sit here for one more minute and f***ing promote him.”

Now, I'm not really a fan of the traditional pre-fight huff and puff — especially when it comes across as contrived antagonism that most boxers get into in order to a) sell the fight and b) rile themselves up to get into the right frame of mind which is exactly how this sounded and appeared at the time.

But the more I think about it, the more I think Gallen has a point.

It's not a new gripe from him either.

After the Footy Fight Night when he blew away Darcy Lussick, Gallen had a real pop at fans who crammed into the arena to watch him, yet ignored Andrew Maloney who fought the day before.

"Where's all these people who want to bag me for boxing? [Why aren't they] watching the Moloney boys?
"It really frustrates me."

So Gallen has already said he's frustrated about this sort of thing, and from that perspective you can understand why.

However, Terzievski didn't seem that impressed.

“I thought it was a bit cringey to be honest,” he said.
