Michael Gunner says NT will likely introduce zone rules for arrivals

Once the Territory reaches its vaccination target, Mr Gunner said the NT would likely introduce green, orange and red zone quarantine categories for arrivals.

Rules will differ depending on a traveller's vaccination status.

Green zone travellers:

are people who arrive in the NT from any place that is not a designated COVID hotspot
will be permitted free access to the NT, whether or not they are vaccinated

Orange zone travellers:

are people who arrive from an area that is deemed a medium-level COVID risk. That could be due to risk factors such as exposure sites or positive wastewater detection
will be required to self-quarantine at home or another suitable address if they are fully vaccinated, and they will be allowed to leave their quarantine once they receive a negative test result

Red zone travellers:

are people who arrive from an area that has been designated a COVID hotspot
will be allowed to self-quarantine for 14 days at home or another suitable address if they are fully vaccinated, instead of at supervised facilities like Howard Springs

Unvaccinated orange or red zone travellers who do not have a pre-approved reason for travel will be banned from entering the NT, Mr Gunner said.

Unvaccinated travellers who have an approved reason to travel will be required to quarantine at Howard Springs or another supervised facility at their own expense.
