Hearing Habs interested in EDM's Vandermeer. Moreso, after solid scrap with Lucic last night?
All right. 5 mins to air in SPortsnet studios. Flanked by the venerable Mike Brophy, and a fine crew. Let's get after it!
Hearing now in order to drop NTC, #Panthers Weiss only willing to look @ #Leafs as possible destination. #Kings don't appear an option.
I'm saying 7 teams out of playoffs. Western GM agrees, "The pool of teams willing to give up quality is so small." 2/3rds of NHL adding.
Add Columbus UFA Jan Hejda to the list of veteran rental defencemen available.
Montreal GM Pierre Gauthier on the team charter from 9-11 et?? Why wouldn't you fly post-deadline?
Weiss likes Toronto, however, at the moment the Leafs are not planning on making an offer. That may change as day evolves.
Flyers in the market for a forward. $1.9 in space with Zherdev. $3.9 without him. Could add a solid piece.
Reports that Toronto is OUT on LIies. Confirming that COLUMBUS is still pitching for the Colorado D-man.
TSN panel is discussing how it would be possible for Brad Richards to move today.

Would L.A. really trade away Brayden Schenn after his performance at the world juniors? Would it not be better to hold on to him and continue to build their club into a Cup contender for a couple of years?

Plot thickens. If you're wondering if Brad Richards is willing to waive his no move clause? Yes, but only one team.
Chris Phillips was expected to be one of the players on the market today. Instead, he re-signed with the Ottawa Senators Sunday night for three years worth a reported $9.25 million.
From the AP:
"There's a lot of factors for wanting to stay, on the ice and off the ice," Phillips told TSN. "As far as the team's concerned, yes we're in a rebuild but I don't think it's going to be a long wait to get back to it. We've got a lot of young guys that have shown a lot of promise, that are going to be exciting to watch the next couple of years. And I still feel pretty young. I don't feel like this is my career-ending contract."

TSN's already "looking back" at the trades that "have already happened" beginning with Francois Beauchemin (which happened Feb. 9). Perhaps they got started a bit too early this morning if we're already "taking a look back."

I'd give up lots for Z. Bogosian. I woudn't give up for nearly as much for LIles.
Reason Liles/Toronto apparently fell apart is Leafs asked for a draft pick in addition to player.
Leaf tire kicking on Weiss seems to be going nowhere.
